Let's Hear It For The boys

Hello Everyone! It has been a real, real, real long time since I've been here. Sometimes life happens and the things you want to do are put on the back burner for other things that has to be done. It's not always bad things happening and in my case it's not bad things. The Lord is blessing my with some changes in my life and I thank Him. In all that's happening, I was told I needed to have more masculine cards. I am trying to make more. It's not easy to find masculine things for cards or even samples of masculine cards, but I'll just adventure out on my own and see what I can come up with. Hope you like these and as soon as I can, I'll make some more and post them. So until next time . . . . .

Practicing With Digitals

Hello Everyone!!! Hope all is well. It has been really hot here, but I've still had to get out in it to handle all the necessary things in life. Believe me, I don't look forward to going outside. I'd rather stay in and make cards, but after all the running is done, there doesn't seem to be alot of time left to get my creative juices flowing. I've been trying to practice making cards with some of the digital images I have received. I'm really not one to color, but when I see other cards that have been colored, they just look so pretty. Here are three cards I made. Hope you like them. I'm beginning to enjoy my digitals. Maybe if I keep practicing, I'll get better. So until next time . . . . .

I'm Back

Hello Everyone, it's tose famous last words, "I'm Back!" It has really been a month, I think since I have has the chance to make some cards. My friend and I decided we would pick a day and time and go for it. I gathered up my things and went to her house for the day. I arrived about 11:30 a.m. and we worked until it began to thunder around 7:00 p.m. I thought I had better make it home before the rain started. I don't see as well as I use to at night. I arrived at home and had to put some finishing touches to some of my cards. It just felt good to make cards again. I'm not going to say when I'll do this again cause something always seems to come up and my plans are changed. So I will just say I'm going to have more to post as soon as possible.
So until next time . . . . .

Proud Grandmother!!!

Hello Everyone, Just had to drop in and post about my granddaughter's graduation from Elementary school to Middle school. On Tuesday, May 31st, my boyfriend and I left going to Louisville, KY. My son met us when we arrived and took us to the hotel. We went a day early so we could take Amara shopping and do whatever she wanted to do. She was still in school, so we had to wait until school was out and my son went to pick her up. The wait was short, but it seemed like hours. I was so anxious to see her. We don't get to see each other often and it had been awhile. Oh, but it was well worth the wait. We couldn't stop hugging. It seems like it was just yesterday she was a baby. Look at her now. And the handsome guy with her is my son. The graduation was so nice. The students were presented with flowers as they crossed the stage and then they were told to give the flower to someone who made a difference in their life. I was so surprised when Amara gave me her flower. Of course, I cried. I also got a chance to hear Amara play her viola. I am so thankful that the Lord allowed me to go and spent time with Amara and Ray. I can't forget about that special man in my life. He always there for me and I thank him.
Well, I'm going to try to make some cards soon. Then I have a women's conference coming up next week in Louisville and that will give me another chance to see my granddaughter, yeah!!!
So until next time . . . . .

Well, it took long enough!

Hello Everyone! It's been awhile since my last blog but believe me I've been trying to get it done. I usually try to make at least 3 cards at a time before I post them. It has been slow going. I mean I have gotten on my own nerves this time. I find myself wanting to make cards, but time just slips away so fast and before I know it the day is gone and it's time for bed. What is a girl to do? Let me move on. Here are the cards I came up with. Hope you like them. Leave me a comment and let me know. Until next time (and who knows when that will be) . . . . .

Stormy Weather

Hello Everyone!!! What is there to do when it is storming? That is if the lights don't go out. I made this card. I got the inspiration from a card I saw on one of the blogs I visit. I decided to try my hand at it. I hope you like it. It is still storming here and it has been for at least five days. Suppose to end today, but will be back next week. I hope to make more cards this week even though I have a lot going on and revival starts Sunday night. Just don't seem to be enough time. Oh well, I'll do my best. So until next time . . . . .

Surprise RAK

Hello Everyone!!! I was really surprised on Wednesday when I received this large yellow envelope in the mail. I couldn't imagine what in the world it could be. Then I read the name on the front saying who it was from. I want to thank FranCine Green from Norristown, PA for the RAK (Random Act of Kindness). The RAK Group is from Scraps of Color, one of my favorite sites. It has a lot of different groups you can join and meet people and share ideas, crafts, and etc. Here is a picture I took to show you how thoughtful FranCine was. Believe me, knowing that she thought of me made my day. Thanks for the RAK. Until next time . . . .

Rainy Friday Night

Hello Everyone!!! I just wanted to post these cards I made last night. It was rainy and cold here, so I decided to stay in. It's funny how the weather keeps changing. Just when I think Spring is here, another cold front comes through. Oh well, it just gives me time to stay in and make more cards. The first card was one I saw and wanted to give it a try. I love doing the owl. I think it turned out rather well. The second card was done with a kennyk digital stamp I won from a challenge at Colorful Creations. I have never been one for coloring in, but I think these stamps are just darling. Well I hope you like these cards and I will be back soon.Until next time . . . . .

Friday Fun

Hello Everyone! It's been a while since I've got to blog and I have really missed it. Well it isn't my fault this time. I had a computer virus and it stopped me from doing everything. I have really missed having my computer. It's been like I had been cut off from the world. Well I have it back now and I had to show you all the cards I made. On Friday, I met with two friends and we spent the day making cards. It was like old times and we have decided to continue to meet at least twice a month. I wish my house was big enough to invite them over, but my rooms are too small. Oh well the Lord is still in the blessing business and I would like a big craft room. We have not because we ask not. Hope you like these cards I made and thanks to the other cardmakers for their inspiration. Now if you would go to my friends blog http://www.scrappinsistascafe.blogspot.com/ and take a look Until next time . . . . .

Two Special Ocassions

Hello Everyone! Here are 2 cards for 2 special ocassions. The first card is for a few of my RAK and others friends on the Scraps of Color website Just wanted to say hello to them and what better way than a handmade greeting card. The second card is for my sweetie's birthday. Even though his birthday was last Friday, I am having a party for him this Saturday. My life has changed since we got together. I never thought I would ever have someone in my life that really, really cares about me and always wants me to be happy. All I can say is thank you Lord. I want to show him how much I appreciate him.

He deserves it and so much more. I hope I will make some more cards soon. It just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day. I'm gonna do my best though. While you are waiting on me to post more of my work, head on over to my friends site and see what she is up to: http://www.scrappinsistascafe.blogspot.com/

A Lot of Great Buys

Hello Everyone! From this weekend until today, it has been a really good time for me. Here are some of the items I got from Michael's in Paducah, KY and JoAnn's in Carbondale, IL. I love going to JoAnn's because we don't have one in Paducah. Wheather it's JoAnn's in Carbondale, IL or in Louisville, KY, I'm like a kid in a candy store. Now I have to get busy making some cards for some special people.

Brown all around

Hello everyone! I have had a ball making these cards. It's been a while since I have made some cards and I finally got some time to play with my cricut expression. As you can see the fisrt two cards has the owl and the lady made from some of the carts I own. I must admit I wasn't sure if I was going to like using my cricut expression because it seemed to me to be to much work. Today was the first time I spent time just cutting out items I like, Then I thought I needed to make some cards using these items. And to my surprise I reaaly have had fun. My friend came over today and I cut some items for her too.
I guess you can tell I like brown and green. These are the colors my office/craft room is decorated in. Hope you like these cards as much as I do.
The last single card was my submission to a challenge for another blog I follow. It was titled "One For The Men". A lot of others took a sexy approach when creating their card, but I found this image and decided to take a humorous approach.
Well I hope you enjoy these cards and take the time to leave me a comment and/or sign my guest book.
Until next time . . . . .
