All By Myself

Hello Everyone. Usually when I blog about the cards I have made, it's with my friend. Well this time I'm all by myself because obligations and time have not allowed us to meet to make cards this week. I know this is just Wednesday, but she is in Nashville with her sister who is under the weather and I don't know when she will return. My schedule is kind of full for the rest of the week, so maybe we'll be able to get together this weekend. I have been making cards by myself more now, but it's still more fun when we get together. Don't know what I will do when she moves out of town. I guess I will be on my own. Oh well, lately I'm getting a lot of practice. Hope you like the cards. Until next time . . . . .

A Nothing to Do Saturday Night

Hello everyone. I spent my Saturday going from scrapbooking store to scrapbooking store. I picked up my friend and we went to The Wild Raspberry, which is about 50 miles from where I live. We found a few items, but we were a week early for the arrival of her shipment. I did find some Red Hat Lady items, which I'm always glad to find something. I enjoy belonging to the Red Hat Society. We have fun everytime we get together, about like my friend and I everytime we are together making cards. We left there and went to the next store and found nothing new. Then we continued on to the next city, stopping in the scrapbooking store there. We didn't have much luck finding anything, so we came back home and went to Hobby Lobby. I bought more at Hobby Lobby then I did at the other stores. Oh well, the day was enjoyable anyway. When I finally got home, I picked out these cards to make. Hope you like them and thanks to all the cardmakers for their ideas. Until next time . . . . .

Cards, not just for me

Hello everyone. I just wanted to let you see these cards. I usually make cards for myself or just to pass the time, but I had some men friend that needed cards for some other friends and they asked me to make special cards for them. I was excited and anxious to hear what they thought about the cards I made for them. Well, I was told they couldn't have found any card as pretty and as special as the cards I had done. When I made the "I'm Sorry" card, I realized I didn't have a stamp with that saying. So I have to use the trusty computer. This card is from a father to his daughter and I thought the tree shows strength in family. The first card was really special because it was from a male who wanted a card to send to a male friend who is really sick, so I didn't want it to look girly and I don't make many masculine cards. He thought it was just perfect and that made me happy. I enjoyed making these cards for people who mean a lot to me and trusted that I could express what they feel to other people who mean a lot to them. Let me know what you think. Until next time . . . . .

Card Class

Hello everyone. We had our card class on Saturday, August 15th. We had Stampin Up demonstrator Laura Schmitt with us. She had chosen three cards that she helped us make. We really had a good time even though some of our class members were not able to attend. Those that were there are pictured. Of course I was there and our instructor was there but we are not pictured. We did make the cards with the class. Until next time . . . . .

I Never Knew

Hello everyone. It's me again. I'm in a better frame of mind today then I was in my last post. I guess sometimes we just need to go through some things so we can be stronger and better. During my little episode, I did make some cards. This is one of the best kind of therapy I know of. The first two pictures are the cards I made. The last two pictures are the cards I made from the sketches we gave to our card class. The class is to make three cards of their choice from the five sketches. Of course, I have six cards because I made one sketch twice. Thanks to all the bloggers for all your beautiful cards.

More Cards

Hello everyone, it's been a little while since I have blogged. I'm having a time trying to blog as soon as I make cards, but we celebrated our 8th of August holiday here. It usually last 4-5 days, plus I had my granddaughter for 6 days. My time this past week has really been limited. I also must confess that I have been going through some personal situations that have had me struggling to cope. Making cards is a therapy for me. When I feel down, I enjoy going to my friend's house and making cards cause it causes me to cool out. My friend wasn't in the mood to make cards today, so I was on my own. It's really been tough.
Here are the cards that I made after everything was over and everyone had gone back home. I'm going to try to work on the sketches for class Saturday and I will post them whenever I can. Thank you for looking and feel free to comment and/or sign my guest book. Until next time . . . .

Sunday & Tuesday Cards

Hello Everyone. After attending church Sunday and then going to Michael's after church, I found myself at home with nothing to do. Well, nothing I really wanted to do. So guess what I ended up doing. I chose the three cards at the top to make. Yes, I made them Sunday and I'm just getting around to blogging them. I thought the card in the middle was just so pretty and I was not sure if I could get it to look like the sample but I think I did a good job. I'm learning how to do more and more.
Last night I couldn't sleep so I ended up making the other two cards. I can't believe I'm making more cards that I have to color.
My friend and I probably won't have any time to get together to make cards this week, but we will probably be doing something if it's just visiting. My 9 year old granddaughter will be coming to visit me for a few days starting tomorrow. She likes to scrapbook, so I know I'll have to do some pages with her. If and when we do, I will blog them. She is also in to making doll clothes and I promised her I would take her to Hobby Lobby to buy material. So I think I had better get some rest tonight cause I know she will be full of ideas of things for us to do.
Until next time . . . . .

Can you help a sista out?

Hello all my blogger friends. The cards shown here are some I made at home, just because I love making cards. It gives me joy when I look at the finished product. I sincerely thank all the bloggers and cardmakers for their ideas.
The last photos I made when my friend and I got together at her house last night. We have picked out which cards we are going to make, but like last night, we kinda strayed from our choices. My friend had made the card on the right of the celebrate card in the second set of pictures. I thought it was so cute, so I made one too, just not the same color and flower as hers. She ended up making the celebrate card I had made. I think our night ended around 1:00 a.m. We have discussed naming our cardmaking day. Tell us what you think. We usually get together 2-3 days a week. Not only do we make cards, but we also eat, sing, laugh, talk, go supply shopping and I sometimes spend the night at her house, especially if it's raining or if it's extremely late. So, what would you call days like that? And, if you have any ideas about what I can do with some of these cards, I'll be glad to hear from you. So until next time . . . . .
